A romantic getaway succeeds in the proportion that it disappears from your awareness — the small frictions of ordinary travel quietly removed, leaving only the company you came for.
We have, over the years, learned to anticipate the shape of these stays. A favourite request: a private candlelit dinner on the terrace, with a menu composed around the dishes you mentioned loving on a previous visit. Another: a soft chamber-music quartet in the garden at dusk.
